« From Bronze Age to War Age » Organised violence and evidences of strength during the 2nd millennium BC

War, opportunistic or ritualized violence, territorial tension, expression of strength and power are notions often put forward to characterize the Bronze Age, phase marked by an acceleration of societies hierarchization processes.

Through four sessions, the purpose of this congress will be to discuss these considerations from sources relating to the organisation, individual or collective, technical or symbolic, of violence and war manifestations.

SESSION 1 – The Bronze Age in Corsica and Sardinia, a question of insular violence and social instability

SESSION 2 – Attack, parry and fight back: warfare technique

SESSION 3 – Attack or defend a stronghold: collective strategies of poliorcetics and battle

SESSION 4 – From symbolism to ideology of individual and social violence

► Proposals must be submitted before jannuary 15th 2020, to this adress:

► The author(s) must specify if the proposal concerns a classic communication (20 minutes) or flash presentation (5 minutes), indicate their personal details, their institutional affiliation, propose a title (in french and in english) and an abstract (3000 characters maximum, spaces included).
